Pilates is a mind and body method with a wide range of benefits. It improves mental and physical well-being. Pilates targets the deep postural muscles, building strength from the inside out, rebalancing the body and bringing it into correct alignment- Making you stronger and happier.

Classes are open and taught by Britt, a Balanced Body certified instructor, and Kensal Rise mum of two. With 10 years of Pilates experience from San Francisco, NYC, Stockholm and now London. Sheira-0014Gentle Flow Yoga – ONLINE ZOOM CLASSES

The wonderful Sheira Neumann takes theses lovely morning Gentle Vinyasa Yoga classes each Wednesday. Classes are 60 minutes long which gives plenty of time to stretch out, breathe, tone up and relax at the end. It is an open class for all levels, including beginners and suitable for those with back problems and other injuries.

These classes are inspired by the moving body and will open your body and calm the mind. Her light-hearted approach will leave you feeling rejuvenated and free!

Go with the flow!  Lesley’s 60 minute class is a graceful & energising practice designed to enhance both strength & flexibility, through a flowing sequence of postures that synchronise breath with movement.  Her approach is both light-hearted and fun.  Come prepared to leave feeling re-focused & refreshed!

Open class; beginners welcome. Mats, blocks, bolsters & blankets are all provided.

Classes are led by Lesley Strathearn; a qualified Hatha teacher, with over 10 years experience.

Postnatal PilatesPostnatal Pilates – no classes due to the pandemic

10:30-11:30am

Mum and baby Pilates is a mat-based class for mothers and new babies, 6 weeks to almost crawling!

The classes will help you recover from one months of pregnancy and the birth. We will strengthen you from the inside, out, focusing on abdominal as well as pelvic floor.  These classes will also help strengthen your back and stretch and release all those tight muscles.

Babies can lie or sit in a car seat, whichever suits you and your baby.  You are also welcome to feed your baby during the class.

Please note, pushchairs and prams cannot be brought inside The Yard, so please bring a rain cover for parking it in any wet weather!

These are strange times – when we need our humanity and empathy more than ever, we are forced to be cut off of from each other. As Covid19 spreads globally, online Qigong seems like a great way to keep supporting you, physically, emotionally and mentally.

Anne-Sophie has been practicing Tai Chi and Qigong for over twenty years and is excited to be able to teach some very easy techniques that can help improve your health and promote relaxation.

What is Qigong?

Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique that involves focused intention, controlled breathing, good posture and movement exercises.  There are thousands of different sets of movements, some harder, more external, some gentler, and some which are more meditative. Many are very simple to learn.

Whilst Tai Chi is a martial art, Qigong is thought more as body and mind conditioning.

No mats, no lycra, no need to be flexible, young or old, seated or standing, anyone with a square metre of floor space can do this!

In these uncertain times, as we sit at home waiting, anxious; Qigong will help with getting your whole body and mind re-energised, less stagnant, calm, and above all, right now, improve your immune system, and build resilience.
