Craniosacral Therapy is a profound and extremely gentle hands on therapy originating in the osteopathic tradition which assists the body’s natural capacity for self-repair. Despite its name, treats any area of the body but looks at the body as a whole complete integrated system
The Cranio Sacral System (CSS) consist of the cranium, the sacrum and the spine that connects them. Inside runs a fluid that protects the brain and the nervous system which runs thRough the spine and subsequently out to all the parts of the body, giving and receiving information of pleasure and pain through life.
Because of it’s gentle approach, it is known to be very beneficial for any age, from babies and young children all the way through to the elderly. Due to its gentle non-invasive techniques it is particularly useful for shock after an injury and trauma, including babies and mothers who have experienced a difficult birth or pregnancy.
The body stores all traumas and pains you may have received through life all the way back to birth. Through the body being listened to on such a subtle and gentle level, many long held physical or emotional patterns can be released creating a surprisingly profound feeling of balance and reintegration. CST is a therapy that corrects the Cranio Sacral system, dysfunctions in the nervous system , frees any tension in the joints and relaxes the membranes. This approach usually leaves the client feeling a deep state of relaxation, and freedom in the body.
The work can address physical aches and pains, acute and chronic disease, emotional or psychological disturbances, such as behavioural disorders, or simply help to develop well-being, health and vitality.
